Zombie Biology

First thing to know about a zombie. Yes they move slow, but, their bones and muscles (due to their dead-like state) have tensed and thickened, making them much stronger then the average human. Fighting one off hand to hand is not recommended. Plus, you are either a badass, or a dumbass, for doing so willingly.

The rumors of killing them properly are true. But if enough of their body is damaged they no longer pose a threat. And due to the rapid decaying process, the zombie will not live forever. It's body will constantly decay to the point where it is either no longer able to move, or the brain has decayed completely. But, a zombie can survive without over 3/4 of it's brain since so little of it is needed. In order to properly kill a zombie, it's entire brain should be severed and destroyed.

A zombie does not need it's entire brain. If someone is killed by getting shot in the head they can still become a zombie. They must be shot as a zombie to keep the parasite from taking hold. And yes it is a parasite.

Also, a zombies body structure is very abnormal. A zombie could lose it's entire spine and regain the ability to walk within 24 hours. Sadly no studies show how this is possible. But as I continue to study, I may find out this strange anomaly, and be able to help humans who are missing limbs or can't walk.

In other zombie related news. Zombies CAN smell living flesh. Once they smell flesh it triggers a huge amount of adrenaline. Kind of like neurotransmitter. If I were in this situation, I would either cover myself in dead flesh, or wear perfume. (I plan on making a perfume that will keep zombies from attacking.)

Now to a zombies senses. Their eyes are not as they use to be. Zombies are color blind due to degradation of their corneas.
After only a couple weeks of their new zombie state. A zombie will completely lose their hearing possibly due to decay since the ear drum is such a delicate instrument.
As their other senses have failed them, a zombies sense of smell is strengthened since the nose is one of the most powerful hunting tools. A zombie can smell human flesh from several miles away.
With a zombies heart and blood, well, they still do
circulate blood, but not through their heart. Their blood (also known as black oil due to it's black color and thick texture) is circulated through their skeletal muscles.

A zombies
muscle fibers thicken and strengthen to the point of becoming as strong as nylon rope. Their jaws, like other bones in their body, accumulate extra bone towards the lower part of the jaw forming an attachment point. This allows their jaws to drop lower, and it creates larger chewing muscles. This helps them chew directly through the skull for get to the brain and bone marrow.

Zombies teeth sadly are not adapted to this change in strength, and will crack, chip, and eventually fall out. In retrospect, they eventually have to chew with their exposed jaw bone. Now why I said sadly, is because if you get caught, with teeth it would be fairly quick. But without teeth, they will have to gnaw on your body with blunt and possible rigged bone. Therefor, making it a long and painful for you sad sad victims.

More info coming soon. Most if not almost all of my research is gratefully learned from the "The Federal Vampire and Zombie Agency" I thank them for their wonderful information and aid to my own research.
